Story of how Jack Maggs Agency started…
While working as a milkman, Jack Maggs was recruited by a large, national insurance company to sell insurance. In 1968, he began selling insurance from his home. In order to support his wife and five children, Jack worked tirelessly to become one of the company’s top insurance agents. Six years later, in 1974, he decided to open his own insurance office in the Mt. Oliver area. Soon after opening, Jack expanded his business to include notary services.
In 1986, his son, Steve, joined the business. Steve saw potential to grow and further expanded to become an authorized agent and messenger for PennDOT. When PennDOT launched online services, Jack Maggs Agency was one of the first seven locations to adopt the new technology. These added services became a core service for the Agency. In December 2004, after spending 30 years in the Mt. Oliver location, Jack Maggs Agency moved to the current location at 1700 Saw Mill Run Boulevard.
